Safety technology has become an important factor for car buyers, and two of the best systems are Honda Sensing and Toyota Safety Sense. Each is a suite of active safety features that helps drivers become aware of hazardous road conditions and, in some case, actively mitigate against collisions and damage.
Honda Sensing vs Toyota Safety Sense
Honda & Toyota Shared Features
Most newly released Honda and Toyota vehicle are equipped with these systems as a standard or optional feature. These are the elements that are shared by both systems:
Lane Departure Warning
Warns you when you drift out of your lane without signaling.
Forward Collision Warning
The system alerts you to potential collisions. It automatically engages the brakes if you are slow to respond.
Auto High-Beam Headlights
This system cycles between high- and low-beam lights based upon nighttime upcoming traffic.
Adaptive Cruise Control
Helps you maintain your space behind the vehicle in front.
Toyota Safety Sense is good, but Honda Sensing is better.

Honda Features
Honda Sensing offers the following features, not available with Toyota Safety Sense:
Lane Keeping Assist System
Goes one better than Lane Departure Warning by adjusting your steering to re-center the vehicle in the lane.
Blind Spot Information System
Activated by your turn signal to alert you, via a blinking light and beeping sound, to a vehicle in an adjacent lane.
LaneWatch
A camera mounted on the passenger-side exterior mirror is activated by the right turn signal to show live video on the vehicle's touchscreen display.
Cross Traffic Monitor
Put the car into reverse and this system detects a rearward vehicle approaching from either side, then alerts you on the Multi-Angle Rearview Camera and via a sequence of beeps.
Road Departure Mitigation System
If you drift toward the side of the road without signaling, this system first vibrates the steering wheel to alert you to a potential problem. If drifting continues, the system can adjust the steering wheel and brakes to keep you on the road.
